Frames
Most of the pages in the ARP/ATP On-Line system have a framed structure. Web developers use frames to divide pages into separate regions of information that contain information independent of the other regions. We are not attempting to write suggestions here for every version of every browser, but would like to show a few different scenarios.

Printing Frames in Netscape on a PC
To print an individual frame:

  • Click within the frame (activates that frame) you would like to print
  • Go to File - Print Frames - choose "the selected frame" or "each frame separately"

    To print a framed page:
  • Go to File - Print - Print Frames "as laid out on screen" Warning: Some versions of Netscape won't let you print a framed site the way it appears on your screen (the "as laid out on screen" option will only print the first page of a multi-page framed webpage), so you will have to print one frame at a time (See: To print an individual frame from above). Also see: Common Problems in Netscape 7 - Printing

Printing Frames in Netscape on a Mac
Most of the information for printing frames in Netscape on a PC applies to the Mac. If still experiencing problems, try to reload just one frame by moving your pointer over the frame you want to reload. Single click and hold down your mouse button until a menu appears. Choose among the options (sometimes "for this frame" - "refresh the frame", "show only this frame", "open frame in new tab", "open frame in new window". Then print preview or print the page.

Example of a right click on a webpage in Netscape 7.02 on a PC - Mac users get a similar menu when clicking and holding the single button and waiting for the menu to appear Example of a right click on a webpage in Netscape 7.02 on a PC - Mac users get a similar menu when clicking and holding the single button and waiting for the menu to appear

Printing Frames in Explorer on a PC
The page can be printed either as shown on screen, by selected frame alone, or all frames individually.

Printing Frames in Explorer on a Mac
The entire page will automatically print as shown on the screen. Click on the "File" menu item and select "Print," or click on the printer button on the browser's toolbar.
